If I am working in Canada on a work Visa, do they still take out taxes for Canadian Pension?
Hi! I am going to be offered a job in Canada on a work visa, and I am trying to calculate how much money I will lose to taxes in moving from the U.S. Do they take out CPP taxes if you aren't a Canadian citizen?

http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tax/business/topics/payroll/calculating/cpp/employer/menu-e.html Ordinarily, you'd be subject to CPP, but Canada and the US have a social security agreement. You'd be best served to contact CRA and/or the IRS with details of your planned employment to determine which plan you'd be covered under. It makes a difference if your employer is American or not. http://www.socialsecurity.gov/international/Agreement_Pamphlets/canada.html#coverage
