Move to the USA but still work in Canada what is needed

Move to the USA but still work in Canada what is needed?
My boyfriend wants to move to the United states with me from Canada. We plan to get married but not for some time. I am unable to petition for a fiance' visa or intention of marriage until my current marriage is dissolved. How can he move here but work in Canada? What type of visa would this be? Can anyone direct me with specific links or information. We will be living in Vermont and he will be able to drive over the border to work each day. Thanks in advance!

USA will not allow him to do that. Especially since you are NOT married. They dont like people living in USA but working across the border. (or vice versa) - it tells then that he is not serious about living in the USA. And it will be worse because he is NOT married to a US citizen. If you were married then they may allow him to cross the border. But since you are not married - NO WAY. Call the border patrol on the Canadian border and ask them. If he still does this while you are not married - then sooner or later he will be denied entry and he will be banned from entering USA for several years.

Is it important to be able to speak French to live and work in Canada

Is it important to be able to speak French to live and work in Canada?
Hi, i'm currently doing my Master's degree in England (I won't bore you with the details) and I was wondering, is it preferable to be able to speak French to live and work in Canada? I'm set on immigrating once I graduate and work in the media broadcasting industry. Cheers for your answers, 10 points to the best I promise.

It is in Quebec

Outside of Quebec province, French isn't really required except for government jobs. But you should be fluent in French if you want to work in Quebec, even if you're writing and broadcasting in English, because lots of Quebecois people express themselves better en francais.
3 :
I'm a Canadian, and I took French all throughout high school for that reason - that employers favour you over other potential employees. A lot of jobs do not require you to speak French at all, but that all depends on the profession you're looking into going into. Anything in politics will definitely require you to speak the language. Otherwise, it is simply an additional asset that you offer the company. Depending on where you choose to immigrate to is also another factor. In Ottawa, you will likely need French to communicate to roughly 50% of the citizens. Anywhere in Quebec is also largely French-speaking, and same goes for Northern Ontario. Overall, Canada is a really multicultural society, so ultimately any additional language will lwork in your favour in one aspect or another.
4 :
Not all canada speaks french. Quebec is the only one that is non versatile.
5 :
When you try to get your immigrant visa a knowledge of French gets you extra points, up to 10 extra if you are fluent.
6 :
Speaking French is not important or required anywhere except Quebec. If you live in Quebec, French might or might not be required depending on where you live, and the industry that you work in.
7 :
very important, also lobby with CBC to allow free viewing in the nasty country to the south regrds her majesty and all w/in sound of beau bells
8 :
fluency in your first language (in your case - english) gets you 16 points fluency in your second language (french) only gets you a further 8 points the total possible points for language is 24. French is NOT absolutely necessary unless you really really want to live and work in Quebec. Media broadcasting - well yes - French would certainly help BUT broadcasting is NOT a job that is in demand so you are unlikely to be permitted to immigrate if you actually do work in radio or on TV.

go to your local emabassy and ask,, they will show and tell you everything that you need and tell yo whether you are qualified to enter as a skilled labourer...
2 :
Have you thought of coming to Canada to visit and going to the city that you want to work and see if there is available jobs? Then from there you can obtain a job offer from the company return to the US and then come back and be issued a visa.... Perhaps go on the internet search the areas that you want to live and then search the newspapers online and go from there... do some leg work for heavens sake!
